
The Philippines logged 13,573 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases, raising the total number of active cases to 125,378 on Wednesday, Aug 25.
The Department of Health (DOH) said that of the active cases, 95.9 percent were mild, 1.3 percent were asymptomatic, 0.6 percent were in critical condition, 1.2 percent were severe, and 0.94 percent have moderate symptoms.
The new infections brought the country's running tally to 1,883,088, the DOH said.
Meanwhile, the death toll reached 32,492 after 228 more patients died due to COVID-19.
The recovery count also increased to 1,725,218 with 15,820 new recoveries.
The DOH said that "176 duplicates were removed from the total case count." "Of these, 174 are recoveries," it said.
"Iwasang maging pabaya sa pagsunod sa ating minimum public health standard upang matiyak ang ating kaligtasan mula sa COVID-19 (Avoid being complacent in complying with our minimum public health standard to ensure our safety against COVID-19)," the DOH said.
