DOH assures to give health workers' special risk allowance within 10 days

The Department of Health (DOH) vowed that it will comply with President Duterte's order to give the special risk allowance (SRA) to eligible healthcare workers within 10 days.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said they are currently coordinating with the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to immediately release the funds needed for the health workers’ SRA.
“We have been following it up to them and also the contingent fund is already being prepared. We are committed to deliver on the said time frame that you have indicated last Friday,” said Duque during President Duterte’s “Talk to the People” on Tuesday night, Aug. 24.
“Within your prescribed period of 10 days, we are hoping that the DBM will release the SARO (Special Allotment Release Order) tomorrow , Mr. President,” he added.
The DOH has already submitted the necessary documents to the DBM to release the funds needed, said Duque.
“Nakapagpasa na po kami ng lahat ng dokumento na kailangan sa pagpapalabas ng P311 million thereabouts for special risk allowance para sa ating additional 20,156 na mga healthcare workers (We have already submitted all the documents needed to issue P311 million thereabouts for the special risk allowance for our additional 20,156 healthcare workers),” he said.
“Naghihintay na lamang po kami para sa Special Allotment Release Order mula sa DBM upang mai-download po namin ito sa mga ospital sa lalong madaling panahon (We are just waiting for the Special Allotment Release Order from the DBM so that we can download it to hospitals as soon as possible),” he added.
Duterte instructed both the DOH and the DBM to immediately release the benefits that should be given to health frontliners after several medical groups complained about the non-release of their SRAs.
