Church renews call for the public to get vaccinated against COVID-19
With the rising cases of the Delta variant of the coronavirus in the country, the Catholic Church renewed its call for the public to get vaccinated against the life-threatening viral disease.

According to Church-run Radio Veritas, several dioceses in different parts of the country have partnered with the local government in their vaccination program. These include the Dioceses of Novaliches, Kalookan, San Pablo, Laguna, Balanga, Bataan and the Archdiocese of Cebu.
Aside from opening the doors of churches and some Catholic schools as vaccination sites, the Church is also conducting information dissemination campaigns to boost the public’s vaccine confidence and awareness on the benefits of getting vaccinated against the coronavirus.
Balanga Bishop Ruperto Santos, earlier, called on the faithful “to get vaccinated against the coronavirus so you will have some form of protection against the deadly viral disease.”
The Department of Health said, more than 13.2 million or 12.1 percent of Filipinos are now fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease (COVID-19) while more than 17.5 million or 16 percent of the population have received the first dose. Before the year ends, the government targets to fully vaccinate around 50 to 60 million Filipinos.
