Christian Bables once vowed not to portray gay characters ever.
It was understandable.
He has portrayed several gay characters prior, both in “Die Beautiful” and “Panti Sisters,” and he was afraid of pigeonholed.
He is not wrong.
In fact, there are some who actually thinks he is gay in real life.
Nothing wrong with that, of course, but is he?

In a recent interview, Christian made clear: “I think no.”
He then explained, “This is simply because my preference ay hindi po same sex.”
Seemingly wary that he might alienate fans from the the LBTGQ community, he hastened to add, “But I’m a proud ally to the community.”
Note, Christian is portraying a gay character again in his new movie, “Bekis On The Run.”
Why did he go back on his word not to portray such?
Parang gustung-gusto po nila ako,” he said.
Not that he wouldn’t have accepted the role either way.
Apparently, Christian loved it that “Bekis On The Run” director, Joel Lamangan, handpicked him for the role.
That’s Direk Joel Lamangan.
