Twenty-four children are currently staying in Pasig City’s Centralized COVID-19 Quarantine Facility, Mayor Vico Sotto said on Wednesday night (August 25).

In a Twitter post, the mayor shared some photos of children holding coloring books and crayons while they were at the facility.
“Some activities for the kids at our Centralized Quarantine Facility,” Sotto wrote.
Based on the data of the Department of Health (DOH), more than 48,000 children aged 19 and below have been infected with COVID-19 as of February.
Various progressive groups in the country have expressed concern over the increasing number of children contracting the dreaded disease.
One of the groups, Save the Children Philippines, urged the government to immediately act on the matter.
Recently, the Pediatric Society of the Philippines (PPS) and the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society of the Philippines (PIDSP) has called on adult family members to get inoculated against COVID-19 to protect children.
