Yay or nay? Paperless transaction at NAIA begins for returning OFWs

Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who are coming back to the country are encouraged to register with the One Health Pass (OHP), an online portal that streamlines all the necessary transactions needed to be accomplished by arriving international passengers.

One-stop shops that are in-charge of returning OFWs at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) have began its trial period for the conduct of paperless operations, according to Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commander Edyson Abanilla, of NAIA Terminal 2.

"Arriving international passengers need to register to the One Health Pass to hasten the process at the airport. They only have to do a single registration which already included the Bureau of Quarantine health declaration, hotel booking, E-CIF (electronic case investigation form), immigration, OWWA (Overseas Workers Welfare Administration), MARINA (Maritime Industry Authority), and passenger undertaking," Abanilla said in Filipino.

He said the paperless transaction started on Monday, Aug. 23.

"We have a one-week adjustment period to integrate all the registration and to adapt to the paperless process," the PCG commander added.
