PRC announces cancellation of 2021 Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) for OFWs

The Professional Regulation Commission on Monday, Aug. 23, announced that the 2021 Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and other Middle East countries has been cancelled.

In a Facebook post, the Commission said this was in view of the global uncertainties caused by the surge of Delta Variant, the highly contagious strain of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) that affected worldwide, including the Middle East, resulting to implementation of border closures, travel restrictions, lockdowns and curfews.

"The PRC requests the public's utmost understanding and cooperation as it complies with the guidelines set forth by IATF-MEID as COVID-19 concerns continue to rise," it said.

A day before, the PRC also announced the cancellation of the August 2021 Social Workers Licensure Examination (SWLE) in the National Capital Region (NCR) which was placed under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).

Also cancelled is the Aug. 27 and 29, Licensure Examination for Architects in the NCR due to the MECQ.
