The Pasay City police has recorded a total of 6,572 health protocols violators since August 6 when the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) was in force in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Col. Cesar Paday-os, Pasay City police chief, said more apprehension of those who are violating the health protocols specifically the EMI Habit (ensure to always wash your hands, mask and face shield is a must and implement the physical distancing) are being done under the prevailing Modified ECQ (MECQ)
Paday-os said the 6,572 health violators were apprehended from August 6 to 23.
He said those who were apprehended were given citation tickets for violation of the city ordinance being strictly implemented by the city government to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVI-19) especially the more transmissible Delta variant.
Paday-os said the police apprehended 1,402 for violating social distancing, 2,591 for not wearing face masks; 2,092 for violating the curfew hours, and 487 for not wearing their face shields.
Paday-os said the apprehensions were made on orders of Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano for the police to strictly implement the city ordinance to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the city.
