Parts of PH to experience rain showers due to ITCZ -- PAGASA

Several parts of the country will experience cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms due to the prevalence of the intertropical convergence zone or ITCZ--a rain-inducing weather system that has circulations or low pressure systems, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 24.
The ITCZ wil affect Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, Albay, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarine Sur, Sorsogon, Masbate, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned the public against flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms, which are often associated with short-lived heavy rain, lightning, thunder, gusty winds, and sometimes hail.
Moreover, PAGASA has not issued any gale warning on Tuesday afternoon thus fisherfolk and seafarers are safe to sail.
