Fire hits FDA building

A fire hit a portion of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) complex at Filinvest in Alabang, Muntinlupa Monday night.

According to the Muntinlupa City Fire Station, the fire hit FDA’s Feed Storage Room at about 7:28 p.m. with the first alarm at 7:45 p.m. The fire was declared under control at 7:55 p.m. and was put out at 8:08 p.m.

Nine fire trucks responded to the fire, which originated from an autoclave (feed dryer machine) in the Feed Storage Room, according to investigators. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

No one was injured in the fire, which damaged about P100,000 worth of properties.

The Alabang complex is FDA’s main office and is located along Civic Drive near the Festival Mall, Asian Hospital and Medical Center and Ospital ng Muntinlupa.
