Pageant fans react to Sharifa Akeel getting married: 'Sayang!'

Former Miss Asia Pacific International Sharifa Akeel is getting married to Second District Maguindanao Rep. Esmael 'Toto' Mangudadatu in Cotabato City on Aug. 25, but hardcore pageant fans are not happy about it.

This is because pageant fans believe that Sharifa has still so much to offer in pageantry.

Celebrities and pageant fans think that Sharifa, 24, could still be a contender for Miss Universe or Miss World.

"Can't get enough of this face," wrote Miss Universe Philippine Gazini Ganados in the comment section of Sharifa's Instagram.

"Sayang nga po eh.. sure win yan. Kaso kasal na sila Cong Toto."

"Ikakasal na daw 'to ngayong Aug.25! Bye bye MUP!"

"Utang na loob sharifa join Miss Universe Philippines next year. Tooting for you, queen."

"When will you join Miss Universe Philippines?"

"I'm looking at our Next Miss Universe.''

Two years, ago, when Sharifa was still not engaged to get married, the beauty queen said that she's not closing her doors in pageantry.

“I owe a lot to my supporters. I don’t want to close any door or opportunity that will come my way. We will cross the bridge when we get there. Besides, I am still young. I still want to know what I really want in life and find out my capacity as a person,” Sharifa said then.
