Miss Universe Ph 2021 bet tests positive for COVID-19

Shorty after she made it to the top 50 candidates of Miss Universe Philippines 2021, Gianne Asuncion of Cagayan Province took to social media to reveal that she was tested positive for COVID-19.

On Instagram, Gianne wrote:

"Hello top 50!

"I went silent for days. With the discovery of being COVID positive with pneumonia, I didn’t know how to react. I didn’t know what’s the next that could happen.

"But you see, this fear of the unknown can’t stop me. It might be hard, but all I know is I will heal. I will get better. Tuloy ang laban.

"Thank you so much to my Team Cagayan, @aces_and_queens, family & friends, and @themissuniverseph."

The grand coronation of Miss Universe Philippines 2021 pageant will be held on Sept. 25. The winner will represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2021 Competition in Israel in December.
