Caloocan City completes distribution of ECQ cash aid to residents

The city government of Caloocan on Sunday completed the distribution of the cash aid to its residents affected by the re-implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) last August 6.

In 12 days, a total of 402,835 families received the cash assistance from the P1,342,711,000 allocation given to the city by the national government.

The local government is the first city in the National Capital Region (NCR) to complete the cash aid distribution.

Mayor Oca Malapitan thanked all city government personnel who made distribution fast and efficient.

"Nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat ng nagsakripisyo at tumulong sa gitna ng banta ng COVID upang kaagad na maipamahagi ang tulong-pinansyal sa mga benepisyaryo nang buo, maayos at ligtas (I thank all those who sacrificed and helped in the midst of the COVID threat to immediately distribute the financial assistance to the beneficiaries in a proper and safe manner)," Malapitan said.

The city mayor said they were able to distribute the aid faster by using digital technology like text messages, electronic signature system, and software scheduling through the 20 mobile barangay caravans.

"Katulad nang mas pagpapabuti natin sa distribusyon ngayon kumpara sa nakaraang ECQ ayuda noong Abril, umasa kayo na sa susunod pang pamamahagi ng ayuda ay mas lalo pa nating mapapagaling ang sistema ng distribusyon (Just as we improved our distribution today compared to the previous ECQ aid distribution in April, you can expect that with the next distribution of aid, we will be able to improve the distribution system even more)," Mayor Malapitan said.
