Pops Fernandez on dating younger men: 'I went through a lot of that and I cried...'

Pops Fernandez and Vicki Belo have something in common.

They both used to date men younger than them.

It wasn’t easy.

The biggest challenge?

Being “judged” for it.

The two discussed the matter via Vicki’s most recent vlog and both related to being hurt with society only too critical about it.

"They don't see it as an honest-to-goodness relationship. I went through a lot of that and I cried about those things also," Pops shared.

Vicki cited how it is different with men.

She said, "Older guys kapag 70 years old, nagda-date ng 25, walang reklamo."

"Merit pa 'yon sa kanila," Pops cut in.

"Pero pag babae mas older, my gosh, judgment everywhere," Vicki added.

Pops went on to share how some people actually made her feel like she simply seduced the guy.

“Like, parang pinilit ko 'yung partner ko," Pops related, to which Vicki added, "Or pera lang hanap sa yo." 

Pops made clear, "First of all, I don't offer money. I'm kuripot (laughs).”

The singer-actress also felt that somehow it affected the relationship inasmuch as the guy she was dating also felt the sting.

"Because they get judged and they're not like that,” she added.

Note that Vicki has since married the guy, Hayden Kho.

Pops is still very much single.

Among younger guys she dated prior were Jomari Yllana and Brad Turvey.

Is Pops still open to finding new love?

"Well, I’m just waiting, I guess...kung may dumating..."

She added, "It's hard to believe I'm not sad. I was sad, I was lonely. We put it in our minds that for you to be happy, you have to have a partner. But I realized, I'm okay. I'm happy. I'm happy with my family, I'm happy with my boys."
