Vilma Santos reveals the story behind son Luis Manzano's nickname

Vilma Santos said the reason why she gave his son Luis Manzano "Lucky" as nickname was because he literally became her lucky charm.

The seasoned actress-turned-public servant recalled how things were so hard for her back when she was pregnant with Luis.

"Nung time na nagkaroon ako ng problem financially, back to zero talaga. Wala na akong pera, pinagbubuntis ko siya (Luis) nun and then nung pinanganak ko si Lucky ay April 21, 1981. So April is the fourth month plus two and one is seven," she shared in Jessy Mendiola's recent vlog.

Vilma is seemingly referring to the belief that seven is a lucky number.

"And then nung pinanganak ko siya, ang birth weight niya at 7.7 kg," she continued.

"When I gave birth to him, alam mo yung recover ko talaga sa showbiz, parang mas minahal ako ng mga tao. Du'n ko nakuha yung box office, du'n ko nakuha lahat ng Best Actress award. Talagang naging very, very lucky siya sa buhay," Vilma pointed out. "I was able to recover kaya mula nun talagang sinabi ko lucky siya sa buhay ko."

Note that in 1981, Vilma was able to snatch three Best Actress awards.

She also earned five of the same the following year.
