‘Road lockdown’ in 3 Angono, Rizal areas due to spike in COVID-19 cases


ANGONO, Rizal -- At least three streets in three different villages here are on “road lockdown” following a spike in the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases.

The streets on lockdown are: E. Rodriguez in Barangay Sto. Niño, Doña Aurora Street in Barangay San Roque, and Tiamson Street in Barangay Kalayaan

In a Facebook post, Barangay Sto. Niño Angono, Rizal announced that E. Rodriguez Street from A. De Leon Street up to the corner of G. Garcia Street has been placed on “road lockdown” since Thursday, August 19, after six new cases were recorded in the area.

Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon on Wednesday, August 18, announced the “Block Lockdown” in Doña Aurora Street from the former Angono Private High School up to Paso in Barangay San Roque.

At Tiamson Street in Barangay Kalayaan, the area was placed on lockdown since August 13.

As of 7 p.m. on August 19, the town has recorded a total of 2,532 confirmed cases including 144 active cases.

A two-year-old girl and a nine-year old boy were among the new cases recorded in the town.
