The Pasay City government on Thursday asked the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to extend the distribution of financial aid to qualified residents in the city up to September 11.
According to Angie Roa-Yu, head of the city’s Social Welfare and Development Division (SWDD), they requested for the extension of the distribution of P1,000 to P4,000 “ayuda” because they still have P31 million unclaimed cash aid.
Yu said there are some beneficiaries of the “ayuda” who were not able to come on the scheduled payout.
The SWDD chief added that the distribution of financial aid to residents of 201 barangays in the city, including members of the Tricycle Drivers Operators Association (TODA), will be finished on Sunday (August 22).
Yu said they finished the distribution of cash assistance to 167 barangays on August 20.
Around 91,730 heads of households or 267,150 individuals have already received their “ayuda”, according to Roa-Yu.
