'Kwento' time: NCCA launches virtual storytelling of Pinoy fables
The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) will once again breathe life into Filipino folk tales through an online storytelling event in time with the celebration of this year’s “Buwan ng Wika.”

The program, dubbed “Sa Kuwento Natin II: E-Storytelling of Original Filipino Fables,” will feature original Filipino fables as retold by National Artist for Literature Virgilio S. Almario. NCCA's Sentro Rizal is behind the endeavor.
According to the commission, the event will be the continuation of the “Sa Kuwento Natin: E-Storytelling of Indigenous Filipino Tales“ launched in 2020.
The second book of Sa Kuwento Natin will feature in its five episodes a total of six stories that will convey important messages and lessons to all viewers.
“For the past ten years of the Sentro Rizal program of the NCCA, it has been its goal to share various materials that highlight our Philippine cultural identity, for the use of Filipinos all over the world,” the commission said.
The following E-Storytelling episodes will be launched on the Sentro Rizal-NCCA YouTube channel from August 21 to September 18, every Saturday at 6 p.m:
August 21 - Kabanata 1: Si Pagong at si Matsing
August 28 - Kabanata 2: Ang Hukuman ni Sinukuan
September 4 - Kabanata 3: Si Pilandok at ang Sakim na Datu
September 11 - Kabanata 4: Ang Singsing ng Lawin; Ang Mulawin at ang Kawayan
