DICT donates laptops to Angono LGU to help students amid new learning setup
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has turned over 20 new laptops to the Municipality of Angono in Rizal province.

The turnover of the devices, which took place on Aug. 16, is part of the agency’s Digital Education Program and its component expanded Cybersafe Learning Project.
“Your DICT is committed in helping the education sector adopt to the new normal,” DICT Secretary Gregorio “Gringo” B. Honasan II said in a statement.
“Hence, we continue to strengthen our digital education initiatives such as the provision of Internet connectivity as well as ICT tools and devices which they can use in online learning,” he added.
The DICT and the Municipality of Angono also signed two Memoranda of Agreement for the implementation of the “Free W-Fi for All” program and Municipal Broadband Network.
Honasan said the DICT will continue to expand this initiative to other local government units to help all students and teachers, especially those in remote and far-flung communities, adapt to blended learning.
“The DICT is one with the education sector in ensuring that no student shall be left behind as we continue to transition to the new normal,” he said.
Meanwhile, as part of its efforts to support digitalization of education in the country, the DICT has partnered with the Department of Education (DepEd) for the establishment of the Public Education Network (PEN).
The project seeks to provide digital connectivity to all public schools and DepEd offices nationwide.
