Parañaque City government suspends Philsys registration starting August 2

The Parañaque City government has recommended the suspension of registration for the Philippine ID system from August 2 to 20 while the National Capital Region (NCR) is under the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the recommendation of the city government to suspend the Philsys registration in all sites in the city was approved by the Philippine Statistic Authority (PSA) Provincial Statistical Office V.

Olivarez said all registration sites in all SM City Malls in the city and at Ayala Malls Manila Bay will be closed from August 2 to 20.

The mayor thanked SM group of companies as well as Ayala Malls Manila Bay for opening registration sites in their areas to speed up the registration for Philsys. However, due to threat of new COVID-19 Delta variant and the strictest quarantine status for the NCR, he said, it is necessary to limit the movement of people.

Olivarez said during the launching of Philsys registration at the 3rd Level, SM Cinema City of SM City BF Parañaque, the city government encourages residents to register for the newest national ID.

Philsys aims to establish a single national identification system for all Filipinos and simplify public and private transactions.
