Tai Bundit resigns as assistant coach to PH women's volleyball team

Assistant national women’s volleyball team coach Tai Bundit is scheduled to leave for Thailand Thursday following his resignation from his post.

According to Philippine National Volleyball Federation Inc. (PNVF) chairman Tony Liao, Bundit submitted his resignation letter last Aug. 15 citing family reasons brought by the pandemic.

Liao said Bundit wanted to spend more time with his family especially in these unprecedented times where COVID-19 cases are surging in Thailand.

Bundit’s decision might also affect his coaching stint with the Creamline Cool Smashers in the Premier Volleyball League’s second conference being eyed late this year as the decorated tactician might spend more time with his family.

Bundit missed a few games with Creamline during the PVL Open Conference but was able to steer the Cool Smashers to a runner-up finish against the Chery Tiggo Crossovers.

He was tapped to join national team coach Odjie Mamon and Brazilian mentor Jorge Edson Souza de Brito in bolstering the women’s team for future tournaments.
