Taguig's 'ayuda' distribution now at 53%

The Taguig City government has distributed more than half of the funds of the national government’s “ayuda” or financial assistance.

Taguig has a total allotment of P805,835,000. According to the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), as of Aug. 16, the city government has already distributed 53.41 percent of the funds.

This is equivalent to about P430.39 million or 430,390 individuals. Under the government guidelines, P1,000 will be given per individual up to a maximum of P4,000 per family.

The 16 cities and one municipality in the National Capital Region (NCR) have been given P11.25 billion to be distributed to individuals affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

According to the DILG, Taguig is fourth among NCR LGUs with the highest percentage of financial assistance distributed.

Taguig’s original allotment was P723,971,000, but the Office of the President approved additional funding to 11 LGUs in the NCR.

According to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Taguig was given an additional P81,864,000 for a total allotment of P805.83 million.

Based on allocation, Taguig has the fourth highest budget for “ayuda” among LGUs in Metro Manila.

LGUs in the NCR have 15 days to complete the “ayuda” distribution or until Aug. 25.
