COVID-19 incidence, positivity rates in Metro Manila breach critical levels -- OCTA Research

Metro Manila's average daily attack rate (ADAR) and positivity rate have breached their critical levels in the previous week, based on the latest OCTA Research's report released on Wednesday, Aug. 18.
The ADAR or incidence rate of COVID-19 infections in Metro Manila has increased to 25.25 cases per 100,000 population on Aug. 11-17, up from the 17.92 cases per 100,000 population during the Aug. 5-11 monitoring period.
Likewise, Metro Manila's positivity rate, or the percentage of PCR tests that yielded positive result, has reached a critical level at 21 percent, from 17 percent a week ago.
The reproduction number of COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila was also slightly up from 1.76 to 1.78 and remained at a critical level.
Meanwhile, the incidence rate of COVID-19 in the Philippines remains at "high-risk" at 11.76 in the previous week.
The country's positivity rate and reproduction number, however, were at critical levels of 23 percent and 1.54, respectively.
OCTA has flagged 12 local government units in the country with both ADAR and intensive care unit or ICU occupancy rate at critical levels.
These were Tuguegarao City (with an ADAR of 57.11 and ICU rate of 91 percent), Muntinlupa City (35.64 and 98 percent, respectively), General Trias (32.07 and 100 percent, respectively), Malabon (31,53 and 100 percent, respectively), Las Piñas (30.59 and 93 percent, respectively), Tanza (30.22 and 100 percent, respectively), Cebu City (30.04 and 87 percent, respectively), Bacoor (29.82 and 93 percent, respectively), Meycauayan (29.72 and 100 percent, respectively), Cagayan de Oro (28.73 and 85 percent, respectively), Taguig (26.58 and 88 percent, respectively) and Cabuyao (25.75 and 100 percent, respectively).
