Pasay City government seeks extension of ECQ ayuda distribution

The Pasay City government is planning to ask for an extension in the distribution of financial aid or “ayuda” from the national government to those who are affected by the enforcement of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

According to Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano, the city government has distributed half of the "ayuda" amounting to P356 million.

Rubiano told Politiko sa Facebook that she plans to ask for an extension of at least two weeks.

The city's Social Welfare and Development Department (SWDD) reported that about 114,427 individuals or 38,301 families from 68 barangays were already given their "ayuda."

The mayor said the city government targets to distribute the "ayuda" to 18 barangays on August 17 with 13,830 heads of household and 39,913 individuals.

Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Assistant Secretary Martin Dino went to the Rafael Palma Elementary School to oversee the distribution of the "ayuda" to qualified beneficiaries.

Dino praised Pasay City for its orderly distribution of the "ayuda" and said “walang pasaway sa Pasay City.”
