Most COVID-19 patients in PGH are unvaccinated, data shows

Majority of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients admitted at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) are unvaccinated, according to the hospital’s data issued on Monday, Aug. 16.
The country’s biggest COVID-19 referral center currently has 265 patients infected with the dreaded disease.
Of the number, 187 patients are unvaccinated against COVID-19, 25 are partially vaccinated, while 53 are fully vaccinated.

Based on the PGH’s data, there are 13 patients admitted in the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU).
Nine of these patients are unvaccinated, two are partially vaccinated, while two are completely vaccinated.
Meanwhile, the PGH reported that the eight COVID-19 patients are intubated and on life support machines in the ICU.
Of the number, six are unvaccinated, one patient has been partially vaccinated, and another lone patient has been fully vaccinated.
The PGH had announced that it will temporarily close its outpatient department (OPD) amid the increase in the number of coronavirus patients at the hospital.
