The low pressure area (LPA) off Baguio City has fizzled out at around 2 p.m., Monday, August 16.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather specialist Ana Clauren said the easterlies or the warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean will be the prevailing weather system across the country.
Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may prevail over Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, and Zamboanga Peninsula in the next 24 hours.
Clauren said that Metro Manila and the rest of the country will continue to experience warm and humid mornings with a high chance of isolated afternoon or evening rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned the public against flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms, which are often associated with bursts of heavy rainfall, lightning, thunder, gusty winds, and sometimes hail.
The State weather bureau has not issued any gale warning on Monday thus fisherfolk and seafarers are safe to sail.
