The city-run Ospital ng Muntinlupa (OsMun) in Alabang has reached full bed capacity Sunday amid the surge in the number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the National Capital Region (NCR).
As of Aug. 15, the total bed occupancy rate at OsMun has reached 115 percent with 237 patients in the hospital out of 206 beds. Its COVID-19 bed capacity rate rose to 103 percent with 106 patients admitted out of the allotted 103 beds.

Muntinlupa has tallied 1,547 active COVID-19 cases as of Aug. 15, an increase of 75.4 percent from 882 last Aug. 7. Its confirmed cases reached 16,548, an increase of 1,065 new cases from 15,483 a week ago.
An online briefing by Health Usec. Maria Rosario Vergeire last Friday showed that Muntinlupa is listed on the high risk level with a two-week moving COVID-19 case growth rate of 142.36 percent and moving average daily attack rate of 18.22.
Muntinlupa is classified by DOH as Level 4 along with other local government units in Metro Manila. Under this, the DOH recommends granular lockdowns, active case finding and for areas with the Delta variant cases, rapid antigen test can be used.
The DOH also recommends the urgent need to increase hospital beds, especially ICU (intensive care unit) beds; ensure oxygen availability; and severe and critical cases must be immediately and properly referred.
The Muntinlupa City government has reminded the public to strictly follow health and safety protocols including wearing of face masks and face shields, handwashing and social distancing.
