LPA continues to bring scattered rains over C. Luzon, Bicol, Quezon -- PAGASA

The low pressure area (LPA) east of Bicol Region is expected to continue to bring rains over parts of Luzon in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday, Aug. 15.
The LPA was at 240 kilometers northeast of Daet, Camarines Norte as of 3 a.m.
PAGASA weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said the LPA has a slim chance of developing into a tropical depression and may dissipate in the next few days.
However, for now, he said the weather disturbance may bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Quezon province, Bulacan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Zambales, Bataan, Nueva Ecija, Aurora, Albay Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Sorsogon, and Masbate.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will continue to have partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms and easterly winds.
PAGASA warned the public against flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms.
The State weather bureau has not issued any gale warning thus fisherfolk and seafarers are safe to sail.
