Jonas Sultan makes triumphant return, knocks out Sharone Carter in seventh round

Tucked behind the massive showdown between John Riel Casimero and Cuban boxer Guillermo Rigondeaux, the returning Jonas Sultan set the ring ablaze with a seventh round knockout of late replacement Sharone Carter in their bantamweight clash on Sunday at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

Sultan, who was fighting for the first time since he stopped Salatiel Amit in Ormoc City back in August 2019, put Carter on his knees with a barrage of combinations which the American couldn’t handle anymore after getting pinned the whole time.

Carter, a substitute for Jose Maria Cardenas of Mexico, failed to answer the count as the referee called off the fight at 2 minutes and 29 seconds of the penultimate round of the scheduled 8-round affair.
