PPCRV encourages eligible Filipinos to register for 2022 polls

The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) urged the public anew to register as voters to be able to participate in the 2022 national and local elections.

PPCRV Vice Chairman Bro. Johnny Cardenas expressed hope that all eligible Filipinos will register to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

“Panawagan sa mga hindi pa nakakapagrehistro, malapit na ang deadline na itinakda para tayo ay magkaroon ng pagkakataon na makapagrehistro (We appeal to those who have not yet registered to get enlisted as the deadline for registration is already near)," said Cardenas in an interview over Church-run Radyo Veritas on Saturday, August 14.

Cardenas emphasized the importance of voting as this will help in shaping the future of the next generation.

"Mahalaga na dito sa halalang ito kayo ay makilahok sapagkat dito uumpisahan at bubuuin ang mga plano at mga patakaran sa mga darating na mga henerasyon (It is important that you participate in this election because this is where the plans and policies for future generations will be formed)," he said

Cardenas particularly encouraged the youth to participate in the upcoming elections.

"Sila ang makikinabang dito kung kaya’t mahalaga ang papel na gagampanan ng mga kabataan (They are the ones who will benefit from this. Their role is very important)," he said.

To note, the last day for voter registration is on Sept. 30, 2021.
