The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) management has reminded its passengers not to go down the rail tracks or they may face charges and land in jail.

MRT-3 OIC General Manager Eymard D. Eje issued the warning after a foreigner stripped down and ran naked along the rail line's northbound track toward Boni Avenue in Mandaluyong City last Thursday, August 5.

"We are reminding passengers that going down the MRT-3 tracks is strictly prohibited. Hindi po ito biro dahil ikapapahamak hindi lang ng mga sarili nila kundi ng iba pang mga pasahero (This is not a joke because it will harm not only themselves but also other passengers)," Eje noted.

The transport official said they already filed a case of alarm and scandal against the passenger over the incident, specifically for violating the management's protocol that prohibits passengers from going down the tracks.

The MRT-3's Safety and Security Unit is also conducting its investigation regarding the incident, part of the probe is to determine whether or not there were lapses on the part of the security personnel on duty.

"Moving forward, we will ascertain that proper measures will be put in place to prevent a repeat of this incident," Eje added.

An earlier report from the MRT-3 said the passenger was undergoing routine checks by security personnel before entering the station at 5:35 a.m, when he removed his clothes, ran, and then jumped on the tracks heading toward Shaw Boulevard station.

Four station security personnel immediately chased the man and alerted the staff at the next station regarding the situation.

The passenger was eventually caught and turned over to the Mandaluyong Police Station for investigation and psychiatric evaluation.
