Maris Racal recently opened up about her romance with seasoned musician Rico Blanco.

In a recent episode of "Magandang Buhay," the 23-year-old Kapamilya star shared how she and the 48-year-old singer-songwriter started getting close writing music together.

“Du'n kami start nag-click talaga, nag-work together," she said. “But right now, siguro malaking percentage yung pareho kami ng values sa life, pareho kami na may malaking family and very close together. So, gets namin paano mag-treat ng family. So, 'yon yung pinakaimportante talaga sa amin.”

When asked if it's hard starting a relationship in the middle of a pandemic, Maris related: “Hindi ko po alam, kasi before pandemic po nag-start.”

Though, she noted it's kind of hard to "maintain" it given ongoing restrictions.

Meanwhile, Maris also talked about her inhibitions sharing their relationship to the public.

 “Lagi po naming pinag-uusapan. Pero every time na ganoon po yung topic, natatakot talaga ako, napi-pressure ako. Kasi natatakot ako sa kung ano ang iisipin ng mga tao. Kasi, strange kasi yung relationship namin because of the age gap. It's like the big elephant in the room, so natatakot akong i-ano ng mga tao,” she said.

But she's really surprised by the warm reception.

"Hindi ko in-expect na matutuwa pala sila.”

As for their term of endearment, Maris and Rico call each other "babs."

Rico's sweet gesture towards her?

"Marami naman. Simple lang naman kasi si Rico na boyfriend. Parang hindi naman siya yung tipong, like, araw-araw na nagbibigay ng bulaklak. Pero siguro, every time na nagbibigay siya ng flowers, ganun, kinikilig ako. Kasi hindi siya ganoon, simple lang siya. So, every time na may ibibigay siya, parang kinikilig ako.”
