Deportation 'present' awaits foreigner who ran in birthday suit on MRT-3 tracks

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has threatened Friday, Aug. 13 to deport the foreigner who stripped down and ran naked along the Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT) northbound track toward Boni Avenue in Mandaluyong City.

BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said they are still coordinating with both MRT-3 and Mandaluyong police officials to establish the identity of the alien.

Initial investigation indicated that the alien could either have been suffering from mental illness, or was under the influence of drugs.

Morente said he will have the man deported if he is found to be staying illegally in the country.

The BI chief said the deportation proceedings will be carried out as soon as the police authorities resolve the case and serve the sentence issued by the court.

The foreigner was immediately arrested by MRT security guards after a brief chase on the tracks. He was subsequently turned over to the police for investigation.
