Choco Mucho confirmed the development through a social media post Friday, Aug. 13, paying homage to their team captain.

"Salute to our Captain Maddie. Thank you for leading the team with a strong heart, passion, and determination! You have led the Flying Titans to reach new heights!" read Choco Mucho's statement.

"We are all praying for your speedy recovery from your ACL injury. Nothing can stop the heart of a true Titan!"

Madayag hurt her left knee after an awkward landing midway in the fourth set where Ria Meneses of the Petro Gazz Angels scored off a block point.

Enduring the pain, the emotional Ateneo standout was taken out of the match with a wheelchair and a knee brace and did not return.

The 5-foot-11 skipper was reportedly brought to the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Batac, some 25 kilometers away from the PCV Socio-Civic & Cultural Center in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, for a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan.

The Flying Titans, who were seeded No. 3 heading into the semifinals, eventually lost the match and the best-of-three series of the battle for third and settled for fourth.
