Sta. Ana Hospital in Manila reaches full capacity

The COVID-19 ward of Sta. Ana Hospital in Manila reached full capacity on Thursday, Aug 12.

In his regular live briefing, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said the hospital's infectious disease center where all COVID patients are admitted is already full.

“Grabe ang bugso ng mga pasyente, kaya talaga ang ano ko lang sa inyo, mag-ingat tayo, medyo masama ang sitwasyon,” the mayor said.

Sta. Ana Hospital has a total of 150 COVID-19 beds.

Hospital director Dr. Grace Padilla, in an interview with DZMM, said most of their patients are mild to moderate cases, and only 8 percent are severe.

Padilla also said 60 percent of the patients are unvaccinated.

The hospital director said they were “prepared” for the surge of patients and were able to prepare at least 400 oxygen tanks.

Sta. Ana Hospital is the facility where City Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan is currently confined.

Pangan, according to Domagoso, is already in good condition.

Manila recorded 208 new cases on Aug. 12, bringing its total of active cases to 1,354
