Four employees of the Office of the Presidential Spokesperson (OPS) have tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Of the Palace personnel who contracted the coronavirus, Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said only one worker has been hospitalized to get treatment.
"Mayroon po kaming apat na positibo sa aming tanggapan ‘no, apat lang naman po at isa lang po iyong—that required hospitalization at hindi siya fully vaccinated ‘no – isang driver po sa ating tanggapan (We have four who tested positive in our office. They're just four. Only one required hospitalization and the person is not fully vaccinated, our driver in the office)," Roque said during a televised press briefing Thursday, August 12.
Roque said he had no close contact with the COVID-positive personnel since his office retains a skeleton workforce during the hard lockdown in Metro Manila.
"Sa ngayong araw po parang siyam na tao lang po ang naririto ngayon sa aking tanggapan (Today, there are only nine employees in my office)," he said.
Roque is a coronavirus survivor. He tested positive for the virus last April and got treatment from Philippine General Hospital.
