COVID vax confidence up as 12-M Filipinos are fully vaccinated
The number of people fully vaccinated against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is growing as more vaccine supplies arrive in the country.

Malacañang announced Thursday, August 12, that more than 12 million people have completed their vaccination since the government started the inoculation program last March.
Of the 26,127,502 doses administered, a total of 14,100,119 received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine while 12,027,383 got their second dose as of August 11. The country's daily vaccination rate has risen to 587,636.
"Habang patuloy ang pagdating ng supply ng bakuna, patuloy din po naman ang bakunahan sa buong bansa (As more vaccine supply arrive, our vaccination across the country continues),"Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said during a televised press rbeiing Thursday, August 12.
"Nagpapasalamat kami sa ating mga kababayan sa tumataas na kumpiyansa sa pagbabakuna. Maraming salamat din po sa ating mga vaccinators. Ito po ang ating depensa laban sa COVID-19 ha at mga variants (We thank our countrymen for the increasing vaccine confidence. We also thank our vaccinators. This is our defense against COVID-19 and its variants)," he said.
Roque noted that around 813,150 doses of Pfizer vaccines procured by the government arrived in the country Wednesday. The 100,000 vaccines donated by the United Arab Emirates were also delivered the same day.
The country has so far received 39,513,350 million doses of coronavirus vaccines, allowing the government to ramp up the vaccination drive in recent weeks amid surging cases of infections.
The bulk of the country's supply comes from China's Sinovac with 20.5 million doses, followed by Astrazeneca with 7,273,940 jabs, Pfizer with 4,223,700, and Moderna with 3,826,860. The country's vaccine stock also includes 3,240,850 Johnson & Johnson shots, 350,000 Sputnik V doses, and 100,000 Sinopharm/Hayat-Vax.
The government earlier committed to ramp up the vaccination drive to boost the defense of more people from the coronavirus amid the threat from the fast-spreading Delta variant.
