Muntinlupa police record 469 APOR, UPOR violations; 4,925 PUV inspections

The Muntinlupa police recorded 469 violations committed by authorized and unauthorized persons outside of residence, and inspected 4,925 public utility vehicles (PUVs) in just 48 hours under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

In a report by Muntinlupa police chief Col. Melecio Buslig, the PUV inspections and violations were recorded from Aug. 8 to 11 at five quarantine control points (QCP) and law enforcement checkpoints (LEC) in the city.

The police inspected 2,342 PUVs at Biazon Road LEC, 1,393 at Alabang-Zapote Road LEC, 940 at Sucat-Taguig boundary, 237 at Muntinlupa-San Pedro, Laguna boundary, and 13 at Susana Heights Road.

A total of 469 violations were also committed by authorized persons outside of residence (APORs) and unauthorized persons outside of residence (UPOR) during the period. Of the total, 57 violations were committed by APORs and 412 by UPORs.

Of the APORs, 24 were warned for not wearing face shields, and 11 were warned for violating the 50 percent allowed capacity for private cars.

The police also ordered 409 UPORs to go home and three others were issued ordinance violation receipts.

The National Capital Region (NCR) is under ECQ from Aug. 6 to 20 and a unified curfew is in effect from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. In Muntinlupa, the city government has imposed a total liquor ban during ECQ.

On Aug. 10, the city government placed Chico Street, Laguerta in Brgy. Tunasan under a 15-day Extreme Localized Community Quarantine (ELCQ) until Aug. 25 due to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the area.

As of Aug. 10, Muntinlupa has 1,072 active COVID-19 cases out of 15,826 confirmed cases, 14,357 recoveries, and 397 deaths.
