Korean actor Ji Chang-wook fully recovers from COVID-19

Korean actor Ji Chang-wook, 34, has been cured of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and has resumed his activities.
Last July 26, Glorious Entertainment, the actor’s agency, said, “Ji Chang-wook tested positive for COVID-19. We are working on self-isolation and treatment in accordance with the guidelines of quarantine authorities.”
At the time, he was filming the Netflix drama “The Sound of Magic” aka “Annarasumanara." A staff member of the drama also tested positive for the virus.
On Aug. 11, his agency issued a statement to say that Ji Chang-wook has fully recovered from COVID-19.
“We would like to inform you about the progress of our actor Ji Chang-wook's COVID-19 confirmation. Previously, actor Ji Chang-wook tested positive for COVID-19 during regular tests carried out for safe filming,” it said.
It added, “Accordingly, self-isolation and treatment were carried out in accordance with the guidelines of health authorities. Ji Chang-wook has been discharged from the facility and self-isolation has been lifted.”
Korean media reported that Ji Chang-wook returned to the set of “Annarasumanara" on Aug. 10. Ji Chang-wook uploaded a photo on his Instagram Story about drinks sent by fans. The Korean entertainment industry is still grappling with the rise in COVID-19 cases. Last Aug. 5, it was announced that K-pop boy band EXO member Xiumin tested positive for COVID-19. On Aug. 10, the production team of the musical “Hadestown” said 23 actors and staff including Xiumin have the virus.
