Island villages in Binangonan, Rizal record low COVID-19 cases, fatalities

Twelve out of 17 villages on Talim Island in Binangonan, Rizal have recorded zero death due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Data from the Binangonan Municipal Health Office (BMHO) which was posted by the Municipal Government on its Facebook page, also revealed that the number of recoveries is high as compared to the number of deaths.
As of August 10, there was no death reported in Barangays Bangad; Ginoong Sanay; Gulod; Habagatan; Janosa; Kasile; Kaytome; Kinagatan; Malakaban; Pinagdilawan; Sapang; and Tabon.
Barangays Binitagan; Bombong; Buhangin; Kinaboogan; and Rayap recorded one death each.
Barangay Buhangin has recorded 11 recoveries; Barangay Bangad -10; Kaytome - nine ; Barangays Janosa and Kinagatan - seven each; Kinaboogan - six; Barangay Bombong - 5; Barangays Gulod, Habagatan, Rayap and Sapang - four; Ginoong Sanay and Malakaban - two; and Barangays Kasile and Tanon - one each.
Only three villages, namely Bangad; Bombong; and Kaytome have one active case each as of the August 10 data from the local health office.
There were 4,118 individuals who recovered out of the total of 4,437 COVID-19 cases in Binangonan. There are 167 active cases in the municipality. (Nel Andrade)
