This Filipino beauty queen transformed the CCLEX bridge as her runway

Cebuana beauty Steffi Rose Aberasturi went all out for her Miss Universe Philippines runway challenge, and she did it with style

Our pandemic climate has gravely affected the way we operate daily. And for the local beauty contest industry, change can be seen in the way its pre-pageant activities took a digital leap.

Miss Universe Philippines (MUP) has been making waves online, from its 2021 contestants announcements to its digital beauty and swimwear competitions. Its recent challenge shows the Pinay beauties' runway skills, but one took it to the next level and trended online.

Cebuana bet Steffi Rose Aberasturi went big and presented her runway walk by strutting on the under construction Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) while wearing dramatic black ensembles by designers Stef Tirado, Jessie Lastimosa, and Oscar James.

Bridging Cebu City and Cordova in Mactan Island, the expressway is set to be the tallest and longest bridge in the country. Cebu being a landmark place for Catholicism, the bridge's design will pay homage to its religious background "through a lighted cross on the twin pylon cable-stayed main bridge, highlighting the island’s significant role as cradle of Catholic devotion in the Philippines." The CCLEX is expected to be finished in the fourth quarter of 2021.

"The artistically designed 8.5-kilometer CCLEX will have two lanes in each direction and 51-meter navigational clearance for shipping traffic," it says on its website. "With its design speed of 80 kilometers per hour, CCLEX is expected to serve at least 50,000 vehicles daily. It is scheduled for completion in 2021."
