Muntinlupa launches 'Rolling Bakuna,' opens 9 new vaccination sites

The Muntinlupa City government launched its “Rolling Bakuna” program to bring vaccination directly to senior citizens and bedridden individuals, and opened nine new sites to cater to more people.

Launched by the City Health Office (CHO) headed by Dr. Juancho Bunyi with the support of Mayor Jaime Fresnedi, the “Rolling Bakuna” started in the Espeleta-Pantalan area in Brgy. Poblacion Monday. Doctors and dentists in Muntinlupa, together with barangay health workers (BHWs), make up the vaccination team. On Tuesday, August 10, the “Rolling Bakuna” will be at Sto. Nino Plaza in Brgy. Poblacion.

In addition, the Muntinlupa City COVID-19 Vaccination Program (MunCoVac) team announced the opening of nine new vaccination sites in the city to bring the total to 16. With the new sites, Muntinlupa aims to vaccinate up to 10,000 people per day.

The nine new vaccination sites are at the Tunasan-Victoria Health Center, Tunasan Pavilion on Arandia Street, Tunasan National High School (formerly Muntinlupa National High School Tunasan Annex), Muntinlupa National High School-Main, Soldier’s Hills covered court in Brgy. Putatan, Bayanan Elementary School Unit 1 in Baywalk, Bayanan, Alabang Town Center (for A4 non-residents), Buli Elementary School and Colegio de Muntinlupa.

These are additions to the seven existing vaccination sites in Muntinlupa: SM Center Muntinlupa, Festival Mall upper ground floor parking, Ayala Malls South Park, Biazon covered court at Southville 3 housing project, Sucat covered court, New Cupang Health Center and De La Salle Santiago Zobel School in Ayala Alabang.

MunCoVac had earlier announced that no walk-ins will be accommodated at vaccination sites except senior citizens. Residents are encouraged to register online through the city’s COVID-19 vaccination registration system via www.vaccine.muntinlupacity.gov.ph/muncovac to receive their schedule.

Fresnedi encouraged the public to avail of the vaccination service of the local government especially during the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) for them to have an added protection against the adverse effects of COVID-19.

Based on data from the CHO, as of Aug. 9, Muntinlupa has deployed 347,400 doses. Of the total, 205,406 individuals received the first dose, or 53.25 percent of the target population of 385,725. The first dose total includes 4,359 individuals who received the single shot Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine.

For the second dose, 141,994 individuals have been vaccinated. If the 4,359 Janssen recipients are added, 146,353 individuals are now fully vaccinated in Muntinlupa, or 38 percent of the target.
