Miss Siargao Island Michele Angela Okol among Miss Universe Philippines Top 75

The Miss Universe Philippines bet to represent Siargao Island Michele Angela Okol advances to the next phase after making it to the pageant’s Top 75 candidates.

The 20-year-old Okol, who practically took the big leap from a private citizen to a Miss U Ph candidate, sends her appreciation “from the bottom of my heart” to family, friends, Siargaonons and everyone, for rallying for support and votes for her headshot and introduction video.

“I would not be here today without the overflowing support.”

She adds that she will be “forever grateful to be given such a prestigious opportunity, and I promise to utilize it the best way I can- by using my voice for the greater good.”

She also congratulates all the other candidates, whom she fondly refers to as her MUPh sisters, who made it to the Top 75 list.

Okol, with roots from Dapa town and the granddaughter of the late Representative Constantino “Baby” Navarro, is a consistent first honors dean’s lister taking up Political Science in one of Manila’s top universities.
