Matthew Wright leads scoring average; Standhardinger top rebounder

Phoenix Super LPG’s Matthew Wright is picking up where he left off in last year’s bubble to post the highest scoring average by any player in the PBA Philippine Cup which is currently on pause due to the current quarantine restrictions.
Wright averaged 19.8 points through four of the five games he saw action for the Fuel Masters before the league suspended the elimination round when the government imposed Enhanced Community Quarantine regulations in Metro Manila.
The Fuel Masters, however, currently hold a 1-4 record halfway into their campaign and will need to turn things around once the league secures a new venue in an area that is under the normal General Community Quarantine guidelines.
Pampanga is being eyed as a possible site for the rest of the conference, with hopes of a restart later this month.
Behind Wright is teammate Vic Manuel with 18.8 points while NLEX’s Kevin Alas (18.5), Barangay Ginebra San Miguel’s Stanley Pringle (18.3) and Robert Bolick (18.3) round out the top five.
Christian Standhardinger of Ginebra is ahead in rebounds at 13.0 per game with Terrafirma’s Roosevelt Adams (11.8), TNT’s Troy Rosario (10.7) and Scottie Thompson (10.3) being the other players in double figures.
TNT’s Jayson Castro leads the league in assists at 6.7, teammate Kelly Williams tops the steal department at 2.3 and San Miguel Beer’s Arwind Santos is ahead in blocks at 2.3 per outing.
