GOSSIP GIRL: Fans find Sharon Cuneta's cussing in her film 'Revirginized' cute

I had the honor of hosting last Friday the streaming party of the film "Revirginized" starring the one and only Megastar Sharon Cuneta.

All her loyal fans since the 80s till 2021 were present - Megatitas, Megaberks,Team Mega United, The Sharon Generation,Sharon’s Magic 6, All Things Sharon, Universal Sharonians and the Pawi-kans, the newest Sharon-Marco Gumabao fan club.

Jetlagged but in a fun party mood, the singer-host-actress was so happy to find out from one of the spokespersons of the Megaberks, Gigi Villadolid, that they actually found her cussing in the film "Revirginized" cute and one of her loyal fans even made a remix of her line in the movie “Ang laki ng titi” to the amusement of her fans.

In her latest presscon which I also had the honor of hosting as well, the megastar told the press that she was expecting “violent reactions" from her Sharonians but received an opposite reaction to what she was expecting.   

“From 'Dear Heart,' I was always the simple, sweet, true, wholesome, beautiful, matino and disente. This movie is really special to me because the role gave me the freedom to become a totally different person. Halos opposite ng character ko, except for the inner strength. I’m very excited over ‘Revirginized.' When an actor does a movie that is outside his usual genre na ina-abangan ng audience at kinasanayan, that makes the audience appreciate the other skills of the actor and makes the audience miss the usual kind of movies na ginagawa natin. After doing more than 60 movies, I have already earned the right to play around at my age, most especially. A role like this comes along, written by the genius of Darryl Yap. Ang mali lang sa mga tao, napapansin lang nila ang mga controversial scenes coming out in the trailer. If you watch his movies, actually, puro kalokohan at the start but in the end, laging may kurot sa puso. Tinanggap ko ang project dahil gusto kong gawin, hindi dahil sa kailangan kong gawin. I wanted the challenge and I think I got it. I hope I did justice to the role and I hope my Sharonians will give it a chance and try to see beyond just beyond the cursing and other words I don’t normally say, kahit sa tunay buhay.”

When I told Ate Shawie that she broke the record on the number of views of a trailer since the "Revirginized" trailer already had more than 11 million views and that she also broke the record of ktx.ph of having the most pre-sold tickets on their platform, the actress became teary-eyed.  “You know Giselle I used to break my own record. This news really hit something in me. Thank you. Thank you to my Sharonians. I have the best fans in the world.”

 "Revirginized" is now  streaming on Vivamax, KTX.ph, iWant, TFC, IPTV, Sky PPV and on Aug. 27, at Cignal PPV. It is also going to be shown in actual theaters in the USA and Canada on Aug. 13. This will be the first Filipino film to be presented in the theaters of America and Canada since the pandemic started.
