First-class: PCG welcomes 200 skilled drivers, mechanics in service
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has enlisted at least 200 skilled drivers and mechanics after successfully finishing the Coast Guard Non-Officer’s Course (CGNOC) in its base in Farola, Manila on Thursday, Aug. 5.
The newly enlisted personnel, who belong to the CGNOC Class 84 - 2020 “Tatag-Sandigan, underwent seven months of rigid training at the PCG Training Center in Taguig.

Some of the newly graduates have specialized skills in repairing and maintaining automobiles, and welding.
Vice Admiral Leopoldo Laroya, deputy commandant for operations, encouraged the graduates to “strive for excellence and be committed to public service.”
“As the first class of specialized skilled drivers and mechanics, it is your job to make sure that all mobility assets of the PCG are at optimal and best working conditions. We decided to enlist skilled drivers and mechanics because we know that it is your passion,” Laroya said.
“It is your responsibility to make sure that your passengers will arrive at their destination safely and sound,” he added.
The newly-enlisted personnel are set to be deployed in various Coast Guard units.
