
The Department of Health (DOH) announced 8,560 more coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases, raising the country’s total caseload to 1,676,156 on Tuesday, August 10.
Of the total number of cases, 79,016 are considered active or those still undergoing treatment.
The DOH said 94.4 percent of the active cases are mild, 1.7 percent are asymptomatic, one percent are critical, 1.7 percent are severe, and 1.18 percent are moderate.
The regions that are experiencing a spike in COVID-19 cases are Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), National Capital Region, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Davao region, said DOH Undersecretary Leopoldo Vega during the Palace press briefing on Tuesday.
There were 7,964 new patients that were added to the recovery tally, pushing the total to 1,567,920.
Meanwhile, 92 more deaths were recorded. This brought the death toll to 29,220.
