Pasay LGU vaccinates 44% of the city's target population for herd immunity

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said 44% of the city’s target population of 310, 000 had already been vaccinated against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Rubiano said this was made possible despite the temporary suspension of the city's first dose vaccination due to shortage of vaccines. 

She assured, however, that the vaccinations will resume as soon as the city receives more vaccine supply from the national government.

Through social media and zoom meetings with zone chairmen, Rubiano said the city was able to update and inform its residents of the scarcity of the vaccines. 

The mayor said the city’s “Vacc to the Future” vaccination program will continue to administer vaccines for the second dose.

Rubiano said the city government already deployed a total of 188,035 vaccines and only 131 were administered for the second dose on July 7, and zero for the first dose since it was temporarily suspended.

She said the city’s Public Information Office, under Jun Burgos, continues to inform the public on the vaccination sites where the second dose is being administered. 

She said the vaccination sites for the second dose are the Cuneta Astrodome, the Giga Vaccination site in SM MOA, Pasay City West High School, and at Resorts World Manila, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
