Duterte assures distribution of quality vaccines, urges public to get vaccinated
President Duterte assured the public that the government will prioritize the safety and quality of all coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines being distributed across the country as he urged Filipinos to receive the shot to prevent the further spread of the disease.

Duterte made the statement as he witnessed the arrival of 1,124,100 doses of AstraZeneca donated by the Japanese government at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City, Thursday evening.
In his speech, the President reiterated that the vaccines being distributed in the country are safe.
"Let me assure everyone that throughout our vaccination rollout we will prioritize the safety and quality of all vaccines that we are distributing across the country," he said.
He urged the public to get vaccinated, saying the government was working hard to get more shots.
"To my fellow Filipinos, please know that we remain committed to acquiring a sufficient supply of safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines for all our countrymen," Duterte said.
"I, therefore, urge everyone to get vaccinated and help prevent the further spread of the virus," he added.
The President reminded the public to continue following health protocols even when they have completed their two doses of the vaccines.
"We should all continue to follow safety rules and health protocols even when fully vaccinated. Together let us beat the pandemic and ensure our way towards a better and brighter tomorrow," he said.
Meanwhile, President Duterte commended the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 and the Department of Health (DOH) for ensuring the successful delivery, distribution, and rollout of vaccines across the country.
He added that the country's health authorities were actively collaborating with international counterparts in continuing studies of vaccine safety and efficacy.
Duterte likewise thanked Japan for standing by the Philippines during the global health crisis.
"I express my heartfelt gratitude to Japan for all of the assistance you have extended to our country during these challenging times," he said.
"By providing cold chain transport and ancillaries, you have enabled us to ensure the safe and efficient transport of these vaccines and preserve its quality and integrity," he added.
