David Licauco remains a Kapuso!
This after Licauco renewed his contract for GMA on July 7.
Licauco said that he is thankful for the opportunity, although he said he really didn't expect to be renewed by the network.
"I didn't expect to be renewed. So gagalingan ko pa," said Licauco during an interview following the contract signing.
Asked if he still has restrictions in showbiz, Licauco said: "Wala naman akong resrictions. As long as my manager thinks okay yung project for my career, I'll do it."
Licauco, 27, said that he is ready to take sexy roles but not now.
"I want to maximize my youth muna. Pa-tweetums muna. In a few years, ipapakita ko na ang lahat," he said.
Licauco expressed hope that he can work with Bea Alonzo in the network. "I want to be John Lloyd Cruz for a day."
On bashers, Licauco admitted he gets hurt when people criticize her acting.
"Naiinis lang ako kapag bina-bash ako sa acting ko. Pinaghirapan ko yun at sensitive ako pagdating doon. I love my craft. Alam ko naman way back sa mga projects ko na hindi ako okey. But I have proven myself and I've worked hard the past years. One time there was a troll account. Ang bano ko raw umarte. Na-hurt ako at pinatulan ko talaga sa Twitter. Ang dami niyang alam sa mundo. Siya kaya ang mag turo sa akin umarte," the Chinese-Filipino hunk said.
Licauco also said that he is clueless about his next project for GMA after his teleserye "Heartful Cafe." "Hopefully teleserye uli (ang next project ko) kasi na-mi-miss ko na umarte."
